Abstract: |
[Objective] To observe the effects of acupoint catgut embedding therapy hippocampal neurons apoptosis and the expression of associated genes P53 and Bcl-2 in rats with status epilepticus (SE). [Methods] Forty SD rats were randomized into normal group, model group, catgut embedding group, acupuncture group and positive control group. Rat models with SE were established by intraperitoneal injection of bemegride. Forty-eight hours after the establishment of the models, hippocampal neurons apoptosis and the expression of associated genes P53 and Bcl-2 in the four groups were observed by Tunel method and immunohistochemical method. [Results] Compared with the model group, the apoptotic index and P53 protein expression were decreased, and Bcl-2 protein expression increased in catgut embedding group, acupuncture group and positive control group. [Conclusions] Acupoint catgut embedding therapy can inhibit P53 protein expression, increase Bcl-2 protein expression and inhibit hippocampal neurons, thus reducing the cerebral damage induced by SE. |
