| Abstract

| Diagnosis of observing teeth was recorded in Neijng(Canon of Medicine)earlistly.Up to Qing dynasty,it was further developed by physicians on treating epidemic febrile diseases.The gingival change were the sign to show whether the stomach and kidney's fluid was survivaled or not,and this was considered as one of the unique diagnostic methods.In this article,the author summarizes the descriptions and applications of observing teeth in Treatise on Epidemic Febrile Diseases by Ye Tianshi.And it will play a significant role in diagnosis and treatment based on an overall analysis of signs and symptoms. |
