Abstract
    The characteristic of pathogenesis in active rheumatoid arthritis in TCM was analyzed according to the clinical findings and the results of modern research of active rheumatoid arthritis. It was proposed that the therapeutic principle must be based on the consideration of effect of toxic substances. It was emphasized that clearing heat and detoxication would be the main theraputic measure.Blood stasis was the mayor principle and cooling blood and removing blood stasis was the central point in treatment aim.
