| Abstract

| [Objective] Through the study of the characteristic of mental defense mechanism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (2DM) to direct the psychological tutor and therapy of them. [Methods] 180 patients with 2DM were randomly selected from the metabolic disease hospital of Tianjin Medical University and 72 normal healthy-men served as control. The psy-chological test was carried out using self-analysis invertory (S-AI),defense styles questionnaire (DSQ) and State Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI-Formy). [Results] The 2DM patients with anxiety had much more immature defense styles frequently than the patients without anxiety. Doctors can reduce the anxiety of them effectively by applying the mature defense styles. [Conclusion] By applying the mature defense styles more and decreasing the use of immature one their anxiety can be controlled effectively. |
