| Abstract

| [Objective] To explore protective effect and mechanism of Dahuang Huoling Decoction on the rats with chronic renal failure (CRF) caused by adenine. [Methods] Adenine was given orally to Wistar rats to induce CRF. The kidney function, kidney pathologic change and the expression of platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) were observed to evaluate the effect of Dahuang Huoling decoction. [Results] The kidney pathologic changer in the first and second treatment group were less severe than that in the control group. The blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN),creatinine and uric acid in the treatment group were lower than that in control group(P<0.05). The expressions of PDGF in treatment group were obviously lower than that in control group (P<0.05). [Conclusion] The Dahuang Huoling decoction has protective effect on rats with CRF by down-regulating the PDGF expression and inhibiting the hyperplasia of kidney fibrous tissue. |
