Abstract
|
[Objection] This study attempted to determine whether color Doppler ultrasound examination was available to evaluate the change of left ventricle structure and function in normal rats or rats with chronic heart failure through a comparison with the hemodynamic detection.[Methods] By ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery the chronic heart failure was induced in rats. Five to seven weeks after operation the heart function was measured with color Doppler ultrasound and invasive hemodynamic determination. Simultaneously, the parallel control experiment was performed.[Results] A perfect correlation was found between the value of EF and FS obtained with color ultrasound and LV peak +dp/dtmax determined with hymodynamic research in both normal and CHF rats(r=0.921 and r=0.827, respectively, P<0.01).[Conclusion] The noninvasive twodimensional color Doppler ultrasound at chest wall can assess the change of heart function and structure in rats with chronic cardiac failure substituting for the invasive hymodynamic evalustion. |
