| The effects of liuweidihuang pills on blood glucose and blood fat of diabetes mellitus rats |

| Abstract
|
| [Objection] To investigate the effects of Liuweidihuang pills on blood glucose and blood fat concentration of diabetes mellitus (DM) rats. [Methods] Alloxan was intravenous in-jected (in rats' tails) to establish DM rats models. The rat models of DM were divided into two groups at random according to the blood glucose and weight, they were diabetes mellitus (DM) group (model group), Liuweidihuang pills group (treatment group), and they were given distilled water and Liuweidihuang pills by stomach lavaging respectively. Meanwhile control group was set up. The rats in each group were weighted every three weeks. After six weeks we measured the rats' TC, TG, HDL-C, LDL-C. [Results] The weight of rats in DM group decreased, the blood glucose, TC, TG and LDL-C increased obviously‘The weight of rats in Liuweidihuang pills group gained gradually, the blood glucose, TC, TG and LDL-C declined markedly. [Conclusion] Liuweidihuang pills can gain weight of diabetes mellitus (DM) rats, and improve the level of glycometabolism and fat metabolism to a certain extent. |
