Abstract
[Objective] To study the effect of Baicalin on the differentiation of neural stem cells (NSC). [Methods] The NSC of rats was cultured in vitro. Cultured cells with Baicalin was pro-cessed for the immunocy to chemistry assay. We detected the expression of the MAP-2 and GFAP, the makers of neuron and astrocytes. The effect of Baicalin on the differentiation of neural stem cells (NSC) was evaluated. [Results] Baicalin-treated NSC could develop mostly into neurons. This effecting was depended on the used dose of Baicalin. The high dosage of baicalin group had an more obvious advantage than that of control group. [Conclusion] Baicalin has an effect on promoting differentiation of neural stem cells to neuron.
