Abstract
[Objective] To identify Artemisiae annuae herba, Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. and Mentha haplocalyx Briq. in Kanggan Granules, a compound traditional Chinese medicin. [Methods] A capillary column SPB-5(30 m×0.25 mm×0.32 μm) MS was used, the column tem-perature was controlled by a programe and the MS analysis was performed with EI and quadrupole mass analyzer. The total ion current chromatogram (TIC)of the Kanggan Granules was compared with those of Artemisiae annuae herba, Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. and Mentha haplocalyx Briq. [Results] The main components, α-guaiene, farnesene, selinene, pulegone and menthol, were easily detected in the volatile oil of the Kanggan Granules, which were identical with those from Artemisiae annuae herba, Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. and Mentha haplocalyx Briq. respectively. [Conclusions] GC-MS is a useful tool in simultaneous identification of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs containing volatile components in their preparation.
