| Abstract

| [Objective] To study the effect of Yizhiningshen (benefiting the intelligence and focusing the thoughts) granule on improving the clinical symptoms and cognitive function of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).[Methods] Twenty-one children aged 6-11 years old,diagnosed as ADHD according to the 4th edition of American diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders were treated with Yizhiningshen granule for 6 weeks.Before and after treatment,Conner's Behavior Rating Scale-parent questionnaire was administered to assess the clinical symptoms,and C-WISC was used to assess the cognitive functions.[Results] The score of behavior factor,learning factor and index in Conners Scale decreased significantly (P<005).Other index had no significant change.[Conclusion] It suggests that Yizhiningshen granule has certain effect in clinical symptom and cognitive function,especially in impulsive control ability and hyperactivity. |
