Abstract
|
[Objective] To explore the effect of ginkgolides B on the content of serum CRP and the expression of aortic VCAM 1-gene in rabbits with atherosclerosis.[Methods] High fat feed was use to induce rabbit model of atherosclerosis.Thirty-five rabbits were divided into control (ordinary),model group, and ginkgolides B group, the last two groups were given high fat feed for eight weeks. After that the rabbits in ginkgolides B group were fed with EGB,5 mg/ (kg·d).They were continued to feed for another eight weeks.Blood sample was extracted from ear margin vein before death.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the rabbit serum CRP levels. After death,a sample of aortic artery was taken to detect VACM-1 gene expression by PCR method.[Results] The CRP levels of model group was obviously higher than that of control group;serum CRP content of ginkgolides B group was lower than that of model group. There was a significant difference between both groups (P<0.01).VCAM-1 gene expression in model group was higher than control, ginkgolides B group was lower than model group, obviously difference was found between two groups (P<0.01).[Conclusion] Ginkgolides B can reduce serum CRP levels in rabbits with atherosclerosis, inhibit the aortic VCAM-1 gene expression effectively, thus Preventing the development of arteriosclerosis. |
