Abstract

There were no relevant records about Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome before the Ming dynasty, and it became well-known because of that LI Shi-zhen stated that it could cure syphilitic skin lesion in Compendium of Materia Medica. This paper summarizes the development and application of Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome in later generations. Except the treatment of venereal disease, it is also used to treat headache, arthromyodynia, stranguria, leprosy and so on. In the coastal area, it is often used in the medicated diet for food to remove hot and humidity, and it is widely used in various anti-cancer medicated diet because of its anti-tumor effect. |
