Abstract
[Objective] To observe the clinical curative effects of treating ALI/ARDS guided by theory of"the lung and the large intestine being exterior-interiorly related".[Methods] Forty-two patients with ALI/ARDS were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 21 patients in each group. The patients in treatment group were treated by self-prescriped decoction except conventional therapy by Western medicine (WM),while the others in control group were received routine Western medicine only. All of them were treated for 7 days and after that the curative effect was compared between these two groups.[Results] The comparison in clinical effect had significant difference (P<0.05) and the 28 days mortality between these two groups had no obvious difference (P>0.05);all the inter-group and intra-group comparison of clinical symptoms had significant differences (P<0.05).The mortality at 28 days had no significant difference. In respects of improving symptoms there was statistical difference in comparison of inter-group and intra-group (P<0.05).But the effect was better in treatment group than that of control group in the improving the difficulty of defecating in intra-group comparison (P=0.05),but it could not prove that there was no effect in control group in improving defecating. The comparison of laboratory indices between two groups had significant differences in improving pathologic condition of two groups (P<0.05),but the comparative result was no significant different between two groups (P>0.05).[Conclusion] Under the guidance of the theory of"the lung and the large intestine being exterior-interiorly related"the comprehensive treatment with integrated TCM and WM in treating ALI/ARDS can effectively alleviate the pathologic condition.
