Abstract
[Objective] To explore the effect of taking time of Jingqian Sanji Zhitong Fang(JQF) and clinical curative effects of JQF for treating primary dysmenorrhea.[Methods] The 48 patients with primary dysmenorrhea treated in Affiliated Baokang Hospital of Tianjin University of TCM and Tianjin Central Hospital of Gynecology and Obstetrics were selected during December, 2009 to June, 2011. Every one took a dose of medicine per day. The patients were divided randomly into groups of administration in luteal regression stage (group A), administration in luteal regression stage and mature stage (group B) and during the menstrual cycle (group C). The therapeutic effects were observed and evaluated.[Results] The symptoms were significantly relieved after treating. For patients with mild symptoms, the total effective rate was 93.75%, 93.75% and 100% for group A, B and C respectively with no significant difference between them (P>0.05). Compared with the effect before treatment there was no significant difference among these three groups (P>0.05). During the subsequent three months without medication in three menstrual cycles, the curative effects of group A were significantly better than group C (P<0.05). And there was no significant difference between group A and group B. The result proved that curative effect had reduced tendency. No adverse reaction was observed during the therapeutic process.[Conclusion] Administration of drug in luteal regression stage for treating dysmenorrhea takes less time and compared with long term use of JQF, it has the same curative effects. But the therapeutic effect with long term administration has good curative effect, which is worthy of clinical application.
