Abstract
|
[Objective] To study the inhibitory effect of extract of Hawthorn on fatty acid synthetase (FAS) in vitro and explore its mechanism. [Methods] After treatment with different doses of ethanol and water, in these extracts of Hawthorn, the residual activity of FAS as overall reaction and different active sites were separately detected at 340 nm in ultraviolet-spectrophotometer through monitoring the alteration of OD value of NADPH. [Results] After treatment with aqueous extract(100 μg/mL), the residual activity of FAS was 34.2%. And after treatment with ethanol extract of higher concentration (150 μg/mL),the residual activity of FAS was 64.2%. Both of them can inhibit the Keto-acyl reduction and Enoyl reduction, and the two active sites were important for ethanol extract of Hawthorn. [Conclusions] FAS can be inhibited by the extract of Hawthorn. |
