Abstract
[Objective] To observe the antibacterial activity of single or combined application of sophora flavescens, green tea and folium perillae against staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)in vitro in order to provide some references for the clinical preparation of the Chinese traditional medicines for treating MRSA infection.[Methods] The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC)for single application to MRSA were detected by agar dilution method, and the combined application was carried out by broth dilution method and the fractional inhibitory concentration (FIC)was calculated and compared. [Results] The antibacterial activities of these extracts of Chinese traditional medicine against MRSA in vitro were in turn sophora flavescens, green tea and folium perillae (MIC in turn was 0.025 0, 0.250 0, and 0.312 5 g/L). The FIC of sophora flavescens combined with green tea and folium perillae separately was 0.75 and 1.5.[Conclusion] All of these extracts of Chinese traditional medicine have a potent antibacterial activities against MRSA in vitro. The compatibility of sophora flavescens and folium perillae has no correlation, however, the compatibility of sophora flavescens and green tea has inter-increasing effect.
