Effects of EGB761 on PON-1 and ox-LDL in rabbits with atherosclerosis |

Abstract
|
[Objective] To observe effect of EGB761 on PON-1 and ox-LDL in rabbits with atherosclerosis. [Methods] Twenty-four Japanese white rabbits were randomly divided into normal group, model group and EGB761 group. Rabbits in normal group were fed with ordinary diet; model and EGB761 group were given high-fat diet for 10 weeks. Meanwhile, from the seventh week, rabbits in EGB761 group were given 50 mg/(kg·d) of EGB761, control group and model group were given normal saline for 4 weeks. Ten weeks later, the vitality and content of PON-1 were detected by Elisa and biochemical methods, the ox-LDL were detected by Elisa method. [Results] Compared with the model group, the vitality and content of PON1 in model group were higher (P<0.05) and the ox-LDL levels were lower, while in EGB761 group the vitality and content of PON-1 increased significantly and ox-LDL decreased obviously (P<0.05). [Conclusion] The effect of EGB761 on reducing the level of ox-LDL in AS rabbits may response to raise the vitality and content of PON-1. |
