| Abstract

| Choroid and retinal neovascularization, due to its ability to easily cause a severe diminution of vision and even blindness, becomes a focus of research at home and abroad, targeting the neovascularization, advancing its treatment with the exertion of the traditional Chinese medicine which is based on syndrome differentiation and treatment of both symptoms and root causes has become a goal of the worker of ophthalmology of traditional Chinese medicine. Western medicine(WM) and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has their own advantages and disadvantages in treating choroid and retinal neovascularization, thus, a study on the combined treatment of WM and TCM can be more beneficial to the treatment of choroid and retinal neovascularization, thus, the current progress of the treatment of WM widely approved by the clinic and TCM and the trend of combined treatment of WM and TCM have been reviewed. |
