Effect of Yinzhan Xinmai dropping pill on mitochondrial function of myocardial cells in rats with hypoxia/reoxygenation injury

Abstract
    [Objective] To investigate the effect of Yinzhan Xinmai dropping pill (YZXM) on mitochondrial function of myocardial cells in rats with hypoxia/reoxygenation injury.[Methods] H9C2 cardiomyocytes were divided into 5 groups. The control group, model group (anoxic/reoxygenation injury), YZXM group (30 min, 12 h and 24 h). Flow cytometry was used to detect apoptotic cardiomyocytes. The XF-96 extracellular flux analyzer was used to measure basic breath function, the maximum respiratory rate, the level of ATP, and respiratory ctrl ratios of H9c2.[Results] Compared with the control group, the apoptosis index of the model group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.01). Compared with the model group, the apoptosis index of the YZXM group was decreased (P<0.01). YZXM increased mitochondrial basal oxygen consumption rate, ATP-related oxygen consumption rate, maximum oxygen consumption rate and reserve capacity of H9c2 cells in hypoxia/reoxygenation injury (n=4, P<0.05).[Conclusion] Yinzhan Xinmai drop pill protects hypoxia/reoxygenation cardiomyocytes by improving mitochondrial function and energy metabolism to reduce apoptosis.
