Abstract

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) plays an important role in the health care industry in Singapore. With the increasing acceptance of TCM internationally, the demand for TCM in Singapore has been increasing. The implementation of China government's development strategy of "One belt, one road" offers a good opportunity for the development of the TCM industry in Singapore. This paper reviews the development of TCM in Singapore over the past 200 years, and analyses the current development of TCM in Singapore from the perspectives of clinical medical system of TCM, policies, regulations and management, education and continuing education of TCM, scientific research and development of academic institutions, looking into the future to the prospects and trends of the development of TCM in Singapore. |
