Abstract
    The development of integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine has suffered from controversy and setbacks. Practice has proved that the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine is the general and historical trend. In the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic,the combination and use of Chinese and Western medicine have achieved outstanding results,which has become a Chinese characteristic and a favorable argument for future direction of medical development. The premise of the integration of Chinese and Western medicine is to have clear boundaries. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) must be firm and confident in the integration,inheriting the essence and keeping integrity and innovate to maintain distinctive characteristics. Traditional Chinese and Western medicine are interdependent,and the combination of traditional Chinese and Western medicine should be completed through complementary advantages,so as to realize the huge effect of "1+1=11",ultimately promote and contribute to the whole mankind.
