Medication regularity of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of age-related macular degeneration |

Abstract
|
[Objective] Preliminary study on the prescription and its regularity of treatment of age-related macular degeneration with traditional Chinese medicine.[Methods] To retrieve the literatures on treatment of age-related macular degeneration with traditional Chinese medicine,screen and establish a database,conduct prescription analysis,then excavate the prescription of Chinese medicine for age-related macular degeneration and the rule of the formula to obtain a new prescription.[Results] Screened out 196 prescriptions containing 168 herbs,through analysis and induction,it is concluded that the high-frequency herbs are Poria cocos,Ligusticum,Medlar,Mtractylodes,Salvia miltiorrhiza,Licorice,etc. The main classifications are tonify deficiency drugs,blood-activating and stasis-resolving drugs,diuretics for eliminating dampness.The etiology and pathogenesis of age-related macular degeneration is based on the deficiency of liver,spleen and kidney,and the sputum,dampness,heat and phlegm are the superficial causes.[Conclusion] The main treatment ways of age-related macular degeneration are tonifying the liver and kidney,nourishing qi to invigorate spleen,promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis and clearing heat and eliminating dampness. |
