Abstract

Forsythia suspensa(Thunb.) Vahl. is one of traditional Chinese medicines,which has the function of clearing away heat and detoxification,detumescence,and dispersing wind fever. It has been mainly used as medicinal constituent in the treatment of ulcer,acute mastitis,scrofula,anemopyretic cold,erysipelas,and febrile disease early,high fever with polydipsia,anuria,and coma and so on. There are many chemical components in Forsythia suspense,including phenethyl alcohol glycosides,lignans,phenolic acids,flavonoids,terpenoids and volatile oils,C6-C2 natural alcohols and glycosides. Modern pharmacological studies showed that Forsythiae Fructus has anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,antiviral,antioxidant,liver protection,anti-tumor,immune regulation and other activities. This paper systematically summarizes the chemical composition and pharmacological activity,and provides a scientific basis for the development and utilization of Forsythiae Fructus against the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19). |
