Abstract
|
[Objective] To investigate the clinical effect of Bushen Qutan Formulation combined with Taichi training in treating kindey deficiency and phlegm turbid type knee osteoarthritis.[Methods] A total of 60 patients with kidney deficiency and phlegm turbid type knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into Bushen Qutan Formulation(group A),Taichi training(group B) and both(group C),with 20 cases in each. All of the patients were treated for 6 weeks continually. Visual analogue scale (VAS) scores and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC) scores of the 3 groups were observed and compared after 6 weeks.[Results] The VAS scores and WOMAC scores of patients in 3 groups were significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.05);and VAS scroes and WOMAC scores of patients in group C were significantly reduced after treatment compared with group A and group B(P<0.05). There were no significant difference in clinical efficacy among the three groups.[Conclusion] Bushen Qutan Formulation combined with Taichi training is effective on relieving symptoms and improving the knee joint function of the patient with kindey deficiency and phlegm turbid type knee osteoarthritis, and it has better effects than other 2 methods alone. |
