Abstract

Menthae Haplocalycis Herba is one of traditional Chinese medicines with the effects of dispelling wind, antipyretics, diaphoretic, relieving pharyngeal vrash and soothing liver. It often used clinically for the treatment of wind-heat type common cold, headache, conjunctival congestion, sore throat, pharyngitis, aphthosis, measles, rubella, gas pains in chest and hypochondrium. The chemical components mainly include volatile oils, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic acid, quinones and phenylpropanoids. According to pharmacological studies, it has anti-bacterial, anti-virus, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation, anti-tumor and anti-fertility effects. This article summarized the domestic and foreign literature on chemical components, pharmacology activity and toxicity of Menthae Haplocalycis Herba in the past few years, and reviewed its research progress, providing new evidence for the reasonable development and utilization of Menthae Haplocalycis Herba on COVID-19. |
