Abstract

Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica is one of the four classics of traditional Chinese medicine, and it is also the cornerstone of the formation and development of traditional Chinese medicine theory. ZHANG Xichun, a famous medical scientist, is proficient in medical science and pharmacology. When discussing the function and main treatment of drugs in the Records of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Combination, he mostly wrote the Materia Medica. Through the study and summary of Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica and Records of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, and referring to the annotations of the book of Materia Medica and the works of materia medica in previous dynasties, this paper analyzed and discussed ZHANG's innovation and exertion of the meaning of Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica on the basis of inheriting his predecessors. |
