| Abstract
|
| Cardiovascular diseases(CVDs) belong to the category of "heart disease syndrome" in traditional Chinese medicine. The high prevalence and mortality rate of CVDs caused a huge social burden. Traditional Chinese medicine has efficient therapeutic functions on various types of CVDs. Huoxin Pill which plays an important role in enriching qi and activating blood, warming and activating meridian, has been extensively used in CVDs such as angina pectoris. Clinical and basic researches during the past 5 years have shown that Huoxin Pill has a certain role in improving cardiac function and cardioprotective by suppressing myocardial fibrosis, oxidative stress, inflammatory, and inhibiting cardiac apoptosis. To clarify Huoxin Pill's current and potential application, this paper reviews the literature on Huoxin Pill in CVDs from the perspectives of composition, clinical applications, and pharmacological mechanisms to provide theoretical reference for intensive research. |
