| Abstract

| Atherosclerosis is the root cause of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke and peripheral vascular disease. At present, Western medicine still focuses on intervention of lipid metabolism in the treatment of atherosclerosis. As the main anti arteriosclerosis drug in Western medicine, statins can cause adverse reactions such as liver injury and myolysis in the clinical application process, which limits its application. In the long-term clinical practice, the prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis of traditional Chinese medicine has made good progress. Gegen Qinlian Decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine classic prescription, which can regulate blood lipid and control inflammation, and it also has a very good regulation of the gut microbiota, so it can effectively control the occurrence and development of arteriosclerosis. In this paper, the traditional Chinese medicine composition, effective ingredients, pharmacological effects and clinical application of Gegen Qinlian Decoction and the related research on the treatment of atherosclerosis were systematically reviewed, which provided more reference for the clinical application of Gegen Qinlian Decoction and the basic and clinical research of antiatherosclerosis related diseases. |
