Abstract
Varus after stroke is one of the most serious limb barriers of stroke sequela, which seriously affects the motor ability of patients. Alternative therapies, mainly acupuncture, are widely used in clinical practice and are highly effective. We searched and collected the literature on the treatment of post-stroke varus with acupuncture in the past 10 years, and collated, classified and analyzed them. We found that acupuncture is effective in treating this disease. However, different acupuncture techniques vary widely. By comparing and analyzing the characteristics of different acupuncture methods in order to identify the shortcomings of them,we can provide better acupuncture treatment options and scientific research ideas for post-stroke varus. The neurological mechanisms of acupuncture in treatment of this disease need to be further elucidated, and deeper exploration of the mechanisms of acupuncture's effects on the neurology and blood rheology of stroke patients and the establishment of ideal animal models are the future directions for studying the mechanisms of acupuncture's effects.
