| Abstract

| [Objective] To explore the effects of Bushen Huatan Decoction combined with Western medicine on inflammatory state and endocrine metabolism in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and insulin resistance (IR).[Methods] A total of 86 patients with PCOS and IR admitted to the hospital were enrolled between October 2019 and October 2021. According to random number table method,they were divided into control group and treatment group,43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with western medicine,while treatment group was treated with Bushen Huatan Decoction and Western medicine.The clinical curative effect after treatment,levels of testosterone(T),luteinizing hormone(LH),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),fasting insulin (FINS),insulin resistance index(IRI),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-2(IL-2) and interleukin-8(IL-8) before and after treatment,and the occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared between the two groups.[Results] After treatment,total response rate in treatment group was higher than that in control group(93.02% vs. 74.42%,P<0.05). The scores of TCM syndromes,levels of T,LH,FINS,IRI,TNF-α,IL-2 and IL-8 in treatment group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05). During treatment,there was no significant difference in safety between the two groups (P>0.05).[Conclusion] The clinical curative effect of Bushen Huatan Decoction combined with Western medicine is good on patients with PCOS and IR,which can regulate slevels of sex hormones,inhibit insulin resistance and inflammatory response,with good safety. |
