Abstract
[Objective] Systematic evaluation of the effects of acupuncture and sham acupuncture on brain functional activity in patients with migraine without aura. [Methods] PubMed,CNKI,Wanfang database and VIP journal resource integration service platform were searched for literatures on acupuncture treatment of migraine without aura from the establishment of each database to April 7,2022. FMRI was used as an observation indicator to collect literatures on the effects of acupuncture on brain function of migraine without aura patients. The brain function imaging data of migraine patients without aura were summarized and voxel Meta-analysis was conducted to find the general rule of brain function changes caused by migraine patients without aura by acupuncture and sham acupuncture. [Results] A total of 640 literatures were retrieved,8 literatures met the inclusion criteria, and a total of 425 subjects were included. After voxel Meta-analysis of 8 studies,The results showed that true acupuncture increased the brain function of left anterior cingulate gyrus/paraccingulate gyrus, and decreased the brain function of cerebellum vermiS(P<0.05). Compared with sham acupuncture group, the brain region of the acupuncture group was located in the right middle occipital gyrus with reduced brain function. [Conclusion] It is initially believed that the acupuncture and sham acupuncture have different effects on brain functional activity in patients with migraine without aura, and the central response characteristics are different, and the real needle activates more brain areas. More high-quality studies are needed to confirm the brain regions affected by the sham acupuncture.
