Abstract
As China enters an aging society, the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis has become an urgent problem to be solved. This paper systematically and comprehensively expounds the understanding of senile osteoporosis in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),including the name of the disease, etiology, pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and classification. In TCM,this disease belongs to the categories of "bone bi" "bone wei" and "bone withered". It refers to the disease that with the increase of age,the limb muscles and veins are obstruction and soft, the bone mass is reduced, and the bone is empty. By referring to relevant literature, this paper summarizes the research situation of TCM in the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis in recent years. It is believed that TCM has unique advantages in the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis, which can improve the clinical symptoms of patients, increase bone mass, reduce the risk of fracture, and improve the quality of life of the elderly. It also provides more theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis with modern TCM.
