| Abstract
|
| Knee osteoarthritis(KOA) is a common degenerative joint disease encountered in clinical practice, characterized by recurrent episodes and a high disability rate, which significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Previous studies have demonstrated that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) possesses unique advantages in treating KOA,with definite efficacy and high safety. However, the specific mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of TCM in KOA remain to be explored. The research paradigm of network pharmacology, characterized by "multi-component,multi-target,multi-pathway,and multi-disease," aligns well with the theory of "syndrome differentiation and treatment" in TCM,offering a new approach to unravel the mechanisms of TCM in treating KOA. This paper systematically reviews the application of network pharmacology in elucidating the pharmacological material basis and potential molecular mechanisms of TCM in treating KOA and anticipates future research directions in this field. Additionally,it provides a new perspective and a powerful tool for unveiling the scientific connotations of TCM in treating KOA,further promoting the modernization of TCM. |
