| Abstract
|
| [Objective] This study employs network pharmacology to elucidate the active constituents, potential targets, and biological significance underlying the “different treatment of the same disease” approach in the management of allergic rhinitis using Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San. [Methods] Active ingredients of Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San were retrieved from TCMSP. Potential targets related to allergic rhinitis were obtained from databases such as GeneCards and OMIM. Cytoscape software was utilized to construct network plots for “Xiaoqinglong Tang-active ingredients-potential targets-allergic rhinitis” and “Yupinfen San-active ingredients-potential targets-allergic rhinitis.” Venn diagrams illustrating key targets of the disease and drugs were generated using the STRING database and Cytoscape. Molecular docking analyses were performed using Autodock-Vina. [Results] Screening revealed that quercetin and kaempferol are common active ingredients in both Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San. Xiaoqinglong Tang includes exclusive ingredients such as beta-sitosterol,naringenin,stigmasterol,while Yupinfen San contains unique ingredients like wogonin,7-O-methylisomucronulatol,formononetin. Potential targets like IL13,IL4R,IL4,IL5,RNASE3 are shared between Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San. [Conclusion] Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San exhibit noticeable differences in herb dosage and quantity. From a molecular perspective, both prescriptions share common active ingredients and feature distinct ones. This suggests that while there are similarities, there are also differences in the treatment of allergic rhinitis. This study employs network pharmacology to explore the active ingredients, potential targets, and biological significance of Xiaoqinglong Tang and Yupinfen San,providing insight into the “different treatment of the same disease” paradigm in allergic rhinitis management. |
