| Abstract
|
| The Notch signaling pathway, is a highly conserved and essential mechanism in regulating cell growth, differentiation, development, tissue repair, and organ formation. Its function has been intrinsically linked to the development, growth, and homeostasis of the heart. Nonetheless, several research has shown that dysfunction of the Notch pathway is implicated in the development and progression of some cardiovascular diseases. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has shown promise in treating cardiovascular diseases by regulating factors involved in the pathways that underscore the pathogenesis of the disease. This article summarizes the relationship between the Notch signaling pathway and various cardiovascular diseases while highlighting the regulatory effects of traditional Chinese medicine on the Notch signaling in treating these conditions. By carefully outlining these interactions, we seek to present a concise mechanism of action of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases. |
