| Abstract
|
| Malignant tumors pose a serious threat to people’s life and health. Chemotherapy is one of the commonly used methods for treating malignant tumors in clinical practice. Immunosuppression is the most common toxic side effect during chemotherapy, which can increase the risk of infection and affect the prognosis of cancer patients. 5-FU can induce immunosuppression as an adverse reaction, seriously threatening patient survival. Therefore, understanding the mechanism of 5-FU-induced immunosuppression is crucial for effectively guiding clinical medication and developing new drugs to mitigate this side effect, thereby improving patient survival and prognosis. Currently,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) plays a positive role in ameliorating chemotherapy-induced immunosuppression and can significantly enhance patients’ immunity. This review will focus on both the mechanism of 5-FU-induced immunosuppression and the research progress in TCM for preventing and treating 5-FU-induced immunosuppression, aiming to provide a solid theoretical basis for TCM in managing chemotherapy-induced immunosuppression. |
