| Abstract
|
| [Objective] This study adopted a retrospective cohort study method to evaluate the clinical efficacy of a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) formula guided by the theory of“Xuanfei Qingre,Huayu Tongluo”in combination with azithromycin for the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP) in children. [Methods] This study observed the period from January 2018 to October 2019 and included 1,567 children with MPP hospitalized in the Pediatrics Department of the First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of TCM as the research subjects. On the basis of routine treatment with azithromycin, according to the different treatment rules of TCM prescriptions, the children who used TCM decoction prescribed according to the method of“Xuanfei Qingre, Huayu Tongluo”were included in the exposure group;the children who used the TCM decoction according to the conventional TCM treatment were included in the non-exposure group. The clinical efficacy of the method of “Xuanfei Qingre,Huayu Tongluo”on children with MPP were observed. [Results] In terms of clinical cure rate, TCM syndrome cure rate, complete fever resolution time, cough relief time, incidence of complications, and clinical cure rate of severe MPP,the exposed group outperformed the non-exposed group. [Conclusion] The combination of “Xuanfei Qingre,Huayu Tongluo”method and azithromycin can effectively improve the clinical efficacy of MPP children, reduce the occurrence of complications and severe illness. |
