| Abstract
|
| [Objective] To clarify the close correlation between the head and the development of hyperprolactinaemia from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and to demonstrate the therapeutic effect of head acupuncture together with acupoints selected from the internal organs on hyperprolactinaemia by applying the“Transcranial Repetitive Acupuncture”method of Professor SUN Shentian. [Methods] Seventy patients diagnosed with hyperprolactinemia were randomly allocated into two groups. The control group received oral bromocriptine therapy,while the treatment group underwent intervention with “Transcranial Repetitive Acupuncture,”specifically employing scalp acupuncture combined with zang-fu organ point pairing. Both groups completed a 12-week treatment course. Clinical efficacy,adverse reactions,TCM syndrome scores,serum prolactin(PRL)concentrations,and sex hormone levels were recorded and compared before and after treatment for all participants. [Results] A statistically significant difference(P<0.05)was observed in the TCM syndrome efficacy rate between the treatment group(96.97%)and the control group(81.82%),with the treatment group demonstrating superior efficacy. However,no significant difference was observed in overall clinical efficacy(P>0.05),indicating comparable therapeutic outcomes between the groups. Following the 12-week treatment period,both groups exhibited improvements in TCM syndrome scores and basal sex hormone levels. Notably,the magnitude of improvement in these parameters was significantly greater in the treatment group compared to the control group(P<0.05). Conversely,the effectiveness in modulating prolactin levels was comparable across the two groups,with no statistically significant difference detected(P>0.05). [Conclusion] Employing a scalp-acupoint viscera correlation protocol via repetitive transcranial acupuncture demonstrates efficacy in mitigating hyperprolactinemia symptoms. This intervention significantly ameliorates TCM syndrome manifestations while concurrently modulating sex hormone levels. Consequently,it enhances clinical therapeutic outcomes,presents a novel treatment paradigm,and effectively improves patient quality of life. |
