| Abstract

| Osteoporosis(OP) is a common bone metabolic disease. The key pathological mechanism of OP is the imbalance between osteoblast-mediated bone formation and osteoclast-mediated bone resorption,which involves a series of complex and highly regulated cytokines and signaling pathways. Calcitonin and bisphosphonates are mainly used to treat OP based on the regulatory mechanisms of skeletal homeostasis;however,long-term use of certain medications can lead to increased drug resistance and even serious adverse reactions. Kidney- and Liver-Nourishing Compound exerts the effects of invigorating qi and strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney and nourishing the liver,and reinforcing muscles and bones. Clinically,it is often used to treat OP resulting from various etiologies. This paper systematically reviews the mechanisms by which the active components of the kidney- and liver-nourishing compound exert therapeutic effects on OP,aiming to provide ideas and approaches for the development of anti-osteoporosis drugs. |
