| Abstract

| For the delivery of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) active ingredients that are poorly soluble,easily metabolized,and difficult to cross biological barriers,hyaluronic acid-functionalized nanocarrier systems demonstrate multiple advantages,primarily due to their excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability. These carriers effectively enhance the solubility of TCM active ingredients,maintain drug stability,and promote intestinal absorption,thereby significantly improving the bioavailability of oral administration. This review summarizes the current published research findings on hyaluronic acid-functionalized nanocarrier systems as oral drug delivery carriers for delivering active components of TCM. The aim is to provide new strategies for improving the oral bioavailability of active components of TCM and to offer new avenues for advancing the modernization of TCM. |
