Results: There were some changes coincided with the characteristics of dampness-heat syndrome in the model rat, such as body temperature, diet and water intake, urine output, body weight, urination and defecation, tongue picture, mental state etc.Pathological changes also occurred in tongue, intestine, liver and spleen. San Ren Tang was effective for treating this disease. Conclusion: The model of dampness-heat syndrome in rat could be reproduced successfully by the method mentioned above.
