Abstract
The liver is the congenital dependence of women"was put forward firstly in Linzheng Zhinan Yi’an written by Ye Tianshi with a pronounced influence. The theory had certain significance for clinical practice. It was discussed on the physiological and pathological basis and with respect to the clinical significance and shown that the liver was the pivot of menstruation, leukorrhea, pregnancy and delivery. The physiological basis was the close relationship between the liver and two extra channels (Chong and Ren Channels). The pathological basis was the syndrome of stagnation of liver qi, deficiency of the liver blood, and stagnant qi of the liver turning to fire, which was often found in women. The clinical manifestations and therapeutic effects of gynecopathy secondary to the liver diseases were discussed deeply. Regulating and nourishing the liver was one of the often-used therapies in gynecology.
