Abstract

The whole life, works and his influence of Lei Feng, a famous doctor belonging to sect of epidemic febrile disease in Qing dynasty were introduced. The differentiating method of his representative work Treatise on Seasonal Diseases was discussed. The rule and characteristics of this book were summarized. Then its place and characteristics on the differentiation history of traditional Chinese medicine were also explored. The application of differentiation of syndromes according to pathologic changes of the viscera and their interrelations in Treatise on Seasonal Diseases was studied from 3 aspects in this paper. First, differentiation of syndromes according to pathologic changes of the viscera and their interrelations was used more often than differentiation of syndrome according to the pathologic changes of triple jiao and differentiating the development of an epidemic febrile disease by studying condition of the four systems (wei, qi, ying, xue). This kind of differentiation could show the progress of febrile disease and the characteristics of its each stage. Second, the characteristics of differentiation of syndromes according to pathologic changes of the viscera and their interrelations in treating diarrhea and dysentery. Third, the new type of viscera syndrome of dysentery was established. |
