Abstract
[Objective] To discuss the inhibition mechanism of turmeric rhizome naphtha on inhibiting in the growth of human carcinoma cells SMMC-7721.[Methods] Fluorescence microscope was used to observe the cytomorphology changes before and after giving the turmeric rhizome naphtha. The inhibiting effect was detected by (monofetrazolium) MTT (monotetrazoluim) and the cells’ cyclic retardation and apoptosis rate were examined by using flowcytometry.[Results] MTT test showed that the concentration of turmeric rhizome naphtha had a direct correlation with the inhibiting rate of cell-growth. The result of fluorescence microscope showed that 24 h after administration turmeric rhizome naphtha could induce hepatocell apoptosis. The nucleus was shrank and sunken. flowcytometry showed that the cell apoptosis rate was 28.15% and the cell cycle was arrested at S phase.[Conclusion] Turmeric rhizome naphtha can inhibit the growth of hepatocell SMMC-7721.Inducing apoptosis and blocking the cell cycle are the important mechanism of inhibiting effect.
