| Abstract

| The chief symptom of SARS is fever. It has strong infectivity and belong to pestilence in TCM. The resources of triple of epidemic diseases was proposed based on related documents. The rules of differentiating syndromes of this disease was explored from traditional Chinese medicine. The epidemic diseases of damp-heat type should be treated mainly by expelling the pathogenic factors from the exterior and purgation and Modified Dayuan Yin (Decoction with Direct Effect on Moyuan) can be selected. The epidemic diseases of summer-dryness type should also be treated mainly by clearing heat and toxin and Modified Qingwen Baidu Yin is suitable. SARS happened in China this time is similar to damp-heat type. It can be divided into early stage, middle stage, serious stage and recovery stage. There are plenty of experiences for preventing and treating epidemic febrile diseases in the treasure of Tradition Chinese Medicine. For the treatment of SARS, it need a further exploration and practice. |
