Abstract
    [Objective] To observe the clinical effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine (integrated TCM and WM) in SARS patients at exudative and absorbent phases. [Methods] At the exudative phase the therapeutics were clearing away heat, ventilating lung qi, stopping asthma and removing toxin and blood stasis.At the absorbent phase the therapeutics were supplementing qi and yin, invigorating the spleen to eliminating dampness and clearing away heat.The supplementary treatment included anti-bacteria and anti-virus, supportive measures, antibechic and expectorant drug, and so on. [Result] Nine patients were cured and one improved. The average defervescence was 6.0 days. Serum ALB and A/G restored to normal. PO2 and O2sat enhanced obviously. The amount of WBC recovered rapidly mean 9.67 d. [Conclusion] There is a good therapeutic effect of integrated TCM and WM on SARS patients at the exudative and absorbent stage. It is worth researching deeply.
