Abstract
[Objective] To research the relationship to the SARS patients between the change of tongue fur and the course and/or the condition of diseases. [Methods] The change of tongue fur at different phases of 92 cases of the SARS patients was observed and recorded. The interrelation among the age, the course and the state of diseases and the dosage of steroid hormone was analyzed.[Results] The main symptom for the SARS patients was the greasy fur. It was easy to progress into serious conditions if the greasy tongue fur appeared in the forepart of the course of disease. The clearer the greasy appeared the longer the course of disease was, the more the dosage of steroid hormone was, and the worse the prognosis of the disease was.[Conclusion] Observing changes of tongue fur has a significance for determinating changes of patients condition, directing TCM treatment and hormone uses.
