| Abstract

| [Objective] To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effect of GengNianAnYi Tablet on postmenopausal osteoporosis.[Methods] Sixty postmenopausal women were randomly divided into 3 groups, treated with Nilestriol (2 mg,once a half month), GengNianAnYi Tablet (6 tablets three times a day) and Caltrate with Vitamin D3 (1 table once a day).Six months was a therapeutic course. Clinical symptoms of osteoporosis were observed before and after treatments. The radial bone density of the left forearm was determined. [Results] The improvement of the clinical symptoms and the increasing of bone density were similar in GengNianAnyi group to that in Nilestriol group but superior to caltrate group. [Conclusion] GengNianAnYi Tablet has effect to relieve the symptoms of osteoporosis and increase the bone density. |
