The methods for nourishing yin in the Un-inscribed Medical Records written by YE Tian-shi have distinctive characteristics. This argument has compiled ten methods for nourishing yin and their characteristics. They are nourishing yin to moisturizing dryness, promoting the activity of qi and nourishing yin, nourishing yin with acid and sweet materials, nourishing qi to hold yin, moisturizing lungs to enforce yin, clearing the stomach to cultivate yin, waking the middle energizer and nourishing yin, nourishing liver to retain yin, enforcing yin to nourish essence and astringent therapy for helping yin. These methods made by YE are comprehansive and his prescriptions havetheir own speciality. They have many atrong points, such as using simple prescription with clear idea in diagnosis and treatment. The clear thoughts of YE still has powerful vitality and directive significances in clinics today. |
