Clinical Experience in Treating Exam Anxiety Syndrome by Synthetic Therapeutics

Abstract
    [Objective] To explore the treatment of exam anxiety syndrome (EAS) by TCM and psychology explanation. [Methods] All cases were students. In addition to the anxiety induced by examination different degree of somatic symptom also existed. All cases were diagnosed as anxiety syndrome by self rating anxiety scale (SAS). All cases were treated with Qufan Yicong Tang (expelling distress and replenishing brain decoction) combined with psychology therapy. [Result] Of these patients, 24 were cured,12 were effective,2 cases were ineffective,2 cases refused further therapy. The total effective rate was 90%. The patient’s symptom was improved and their society function recovered. [Conclusion] The integrated therapeutics of TCM and psychology treatment may improve patient’s emotion and somatic discomfort with negligible side effect. It is an effective therapeutics.
